YOU'LL FIND ME IN A SEA OF NIGHT

Summer started and so we lit sparklers off on the front lawn: those giant industrial type. I watched the burning embers and sparks hurl themselves heedlessly towards your face. They were brief but desperate kisses upon your cheek.
The fields became hazy as the lights all very suddenly went dim. Our cheap summertime illumination had gone out in one last vehement attempt, leaving only a blue-green afterglow while my eyes grasped to hold onto them. The idea remained, but they were really gone. Well, at least until your dad bought another package I suppose.
